Falls Creek Accommodation

The Victorian ski and snowboard season is just around the corner. Winter is expected to show a tremendous increase in popularity this year with the Vancouver Winter games dominate TV ratings in February. The majority of Australian operators are of the opinion that the extensive coverage will mean many new visitors who want to learn all the skills they have witnessed on TV. All of this publicity, coupled with improvements in world economies will mean many visitors to the Victorian ski fields in 2010. The GFC has meant that there is little or no new Snow accommodation in the major resorts, and if the predicted increase in numbers is correct, the existing accommodation booked out early. Order as early as possible is the message for 2010.

Falls Creek accommodation operators have indicated that there are plenty of early interest in the peak months from the opening weekend on 12 June, right through to October. Mt Hotham accommodation providers are also predicting a bumper season, judging by early information. The Queens Birthday long weekend is the traditional start of ski season in Victoria. Mt Buller operators say they are currently checks and controlled equipment as ski lifts, snow cannons and snow plows to make sure they are in trouble during the season. All resorts have ordered large quantities of new ski rental equipment to handle the expected influx of tourists. Ski resort has planned a great entertainment itinerary for the season, and there are lots of competitions for advanced skiers as well as news and fun events for the adventurous or inexperienced skiers.
